The DVD Forum's Recommendation of the Regional Code for DVD Players and Discs Sold in the Baltic Countries

The DVD Forum has received inquiries regarding the Regional Code that it recommends for DVD players and discs to be sold in the Baltic Countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania), which joined the European Union (EU) in 2004.

The DVD Forum recommends the following Regional Codes for DVD players and discs to be sold in the Baltic Countries:

For Players

The DVD Forum recommends that DVD players to be sold in the Baltic Countries be coded as either Region 2 or Region 5 players or, if the manufacturer so elects, as Region 2 and 5 players.

For Discs

The DVD Forum recommends that newly-authored DVD Video discs to be sold in the Baltic Countries that the content owner specifies to be region-coded should be coded for at least Regions 2 and 5.
