Participant Rule
Effective as of May 28, 1998

For
the DVD-Forum Principal member, who signs the WG NDA as well as
Undertakings and applies for WG(s):

For all the members who satisfy the above condition:
2. For the non-regular attendants:

If the member is absent from the WG/TG meetings two times successively
without any notice of his/her absence to the meeting or participation
through e-mail, he/she loses his/her voting right in the WG/TG.
However, if he/she attends the WG/TG meetings two times successively
another time, he/she can recover his/her voting right at the second
participation in the meeting.

At the first meeting for a new member, he/she doesn’t have
a voting right because he/she has not joined the discussion before.
He/She might be a regular attendant at the 2nd meeting.

Chairman or the secretariat of each WG/TG should send a table,
showing which member has a voting right, to the WG/TG members
after the meeting with the minutes. (Refer to the attached table
sample.)

For the never participating members:

If the member does not attend the WG/TG meetings two times successively
since the first meeting after his/her registration, and has not
given notice of his/her absence to the meetings or participated
through e-mail, the secretariat of the WG/TG can send a letter
at a WG/TG chairman’s request to confirm whether he/she
will really maintain the WG/TG membership or not. The secretariat
can notify him/her to stop sending the meeting notice if the response
does not return by the due date of no less than one month from
sending the notice. That is, non- participating member can not
be treated as the WG member. However, WG/TG membership can be
recovered by the request of applicant.

Basically non-participating member can not be listed as the WG
members on the last page of the DVD-Book which might be created
in the WG.
4.
For the WG Participants:
- When
draft of the DVD-Book created in the WG is distributed to the
WG members for evaluation and confirmation purposes, the following
information shall be informed to the WG members by the WG Chair.

Confidentiality obligation of all the WG participants for DVD
draft specifications is perpetual. Especially for those who are
not DVD Book subscribers, it is noted that the confidentiality
obligation is perpetual as the same as for the DVD-Book subscribers.
Those who can not accept perpetual confidentiality obligation,
can chose not to receive DVD draft specifications.
